Boundary scripts that still sound professional

5 min read

The “Your fit” and “Schedule & setup” sheets reward people who say no in complete sentences. Scripts reduce the emotional tax of pushing back.

After-hours ping

“I’m offline until 8 ET tomorrow. If this is blocking a launch, text me YES/NO on whether I should wake a backup contact.”

Scope add-on

“Happy to take this on—here is what drops if we keep the same deadline: A or B. Which should I protect?”

Vague “quick task”

“I can do this in 25 minutes today or 90 minutes tomorrow with documentation. Which fits?”

Why scripts matter in interviews

Saying “I set boundaries” is weak. Walking through a real phrase you have used proves operational maturity.
